February News TORTOUR 2021

Are you also hot for the new racing season? We’ve come up with some exciting news for 2021. In a nutshell, we will take you onto a tour of the TORTOUR innovation factory.

TORTOUR Sprint (270 kilometres, 3500 metres altitude):

The TORTOUR Sprint comes in a completely revised version. 270 kilometers of pure variety. After the fast start along Lake Zurich, the route goes via Ricken to Schwägalp. The beautiful pass road up to the roof of the TORTOUR Sprint is also the main difficulty of the day. The second part of the route is characterized by sections suited to all cyclists with big engines as it is almost all slightly downhill interrupted only by the ascent to Kerenzerberg. At the timestation Niederurnen you’ll be able to refuel energy for the last part of the route back to Zurich. To all finishers, welcome to the ranks of the TORTOURISTI!

New category – Sprint TTT (6-8 riders):

Who has the fastest business team in the whole country? Who has the fastest bike club in the whole country? Complete the whole TORTOUR Sprint course as a 6-8 men team and celebrate the success of finishing this epic day together. This is the core idea behind the new category. Attractive for companies with a love for cycling or bike clubs. Time will be stopped when the second to last rider in the team will have crossed the line.

New category – Challenge 2s unaccompanied:

The sprint is too short for you? The TORTOUR Ultra takes too much of an organizational effort to prepare? Then we might have the right category for you: Challenge 2 men team without support car! In a team of two you will complete the whole distance. You will be racing in one category together with the category Challenge 2 men team with support car. Your advantage: slipstream riding, the disadvantage: no recovery time. We give you one hour advantage over the accompanied teams.

TORTOUR Ultracycling clothing collection: Training preparation for the event starts now. But the weather doesn’t allow any rides with short jersey and bib-shorts. No problem! Giordana and us we have designed an own clothing collection for TORTOUR athletes. Whether arm warmers or leg warmers, winter jacket or long pants, with the high-quality cycling clothes from Giordana you are well prepared for your first training kilometers in spring.

Today and every other day: International Women’s Day!

We are more than happy to see a steadily growing number of female participants in the TORTOUR, because we believe that ultracycling is a fantastic sport for women. Good organization, a suitable race strategy and plenty of willpower are required - and not too seldom...

Clear the stage for lots of female power!

Priska Dörig, from Cycling Team Ost, will be competing in the 500 solo category this year. Priska is a TORTOUR "repeat offender", as she completed the 250 solo last year. Anyone who thinks Priska has a long history in cycling is mistaken. She has only been cycling or...
