Clear the stage for lots of female power!

Priska Dörig, from Cycling Team Ost, will be competing in the 500 solo category this year. Priska is a TORTOUR “repeat offender”, as she completed the 250 solo last year.

Anyone who thinks Priska has a long history in cycling is mistaken. She has only been cycling or doing endurance sports since 2020. It started with a few hobby races, but quickly developed into a passion.
She joined Cycling Team Ost last year and received a lot of support there from the very first moment. This environment also made track cycling appealing to her and she was soon on the track almost every week. This is also how she met her coach Marcel Wyss. The question arose as to whether she could even manage a 250-kilometre race, as Priska had been anything but a climber until the previous year. “I would rather have taken a 20-kilometre detour than have to do the meters in altitude,” she says. And the TORTOUR does have some tough climbs in store.
“But my coach prepared me so well that it wasn’t a problem at all,” she says happily. The support of her team during the race also gave her the perfect motivation and almost made her fly over the mountains.
“After that, it was clear that I wanted to do it again – 250 km was easy, I could do more! So I asked my coach what it takes to do 500 kilometers.” His answer was: “The training is almost the same, only the race distance is slightly different.”
After just one day to think about it, she signed up. “Now I’m training for the 500 km and I’m really looking forward to it. I’m curious to see if it will be so easy again or if it will be a fight and I will reach my limits.”
.

We are sure that you will have a lot of fun and that your crew will be the perfect supporters for your adventure. All the best for your training and we look forward to seeing you on the starting line in July!
