Memorial Ride – September 6

Dear friends of the TORTOUR

Most of you have probably already heard that we had to cancel the TORTOUR 2020 due to a fatal collision between a motorcyclist and one of our TORTOUR athletes. Our participant died at the scene of the accident.

“Through a tragic accident, Roger was completely unexpectedly ripped out of our midst. We are incredibly sad, but also grateful that we were able to accompany Roger with his kind and joyful manner on his way.”

We are happy to share these words from Roger’s family and family members from the sorrow circle. We thank you all for the countless expressions of condolences, sympathy and encouragement in connection with the difficult decisions we have made.

In memory of Roger and in honor of his family, we want to give him and his team – the Philipps Bike Team – one last respectful escort through the cycling community. We do this by means of a bicycle commemorative ride on the last TORTOUR stage from Hütten to Kalanderplatz, Sihlcity.
